BARNES AND NOBLE BOOKSTORE. Joseph Roy Carrier Jr., better known as Chubby Carrier, and the Bayou Swamp Band play at Barnes and Noble bookstore in Lafayette, Louisiana. Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band was the 2010 Grammy Award winner for the album Zydeco Junkie. According to Chubby Carrier, he began playing the accordion when he was 13 years old. His father, Roy Carrier Sr., told him that he wanted him to learn to play the accordion. Although his parents died before knowing that he had won the Grammy in 2010, Carrier credits their support for his success. (Courtesy of Herman Fuselier.)
